Motorola might be in the doldrums at the moment as each step they take does not seem to result in phenomenal sales of sorts, which can get rather depressing when you think about it. After all, they seem to have fallen into being a victim of their own success, where everything else after the RAZR just failed to capture the imagination of the masses, leading to the quandary where they’re at today. Still, it is nice to see them not throwing in the towel just yet, as it will be a sad day when Motorola is no longer part of the cell phone industry - somewhat like how most people would’ve felt when Sega pulled out of the home console race with the Dreamcast being its last foray. This time round, we have the Motorola Evoke QA4 that was announced officially, so let’s take a look at what it offers in greater detail right after the jump.
First of all, the Motorola Evoke QA4 is but a socially-inclined device that comes with a 2.8″ full touch screen display to make navigation and usage a snap. A wide variety of messaging styles are supported by the Evoke, where you will be able to benefit from a full touch-screen QWERTY keyboard as well as a slide out traditional keypad if you’re more inclined towards actual buttons. Your home screen content can be further customized with integrated widgets and personalized RSS feeds, where you are able to take advantage of the full HTML browser to share pictures, videos and other files online.
According to Mark Shockley, corporate vice president and general manager, Motorola Mobile Devices, “We understand the importance of having a mobile phone that helps you stay connected simply and seamlessly with your friends and family, whether you prefer to talk, text or network. Motorola Evoke offers the cutting-edge convenience and instant gratification of a full touch-screen, intuitive online browsing and the ability to stay plugged in on your terms.”
The Evoke QA4 is also a multimedia device, supporting audio and video playback of selected files, alongside a camera that not only lets you capture your favorite moments when you don’t have a dedicated digital camera with you, but it is also able to record video although be forewarned that this is no high definition machine for you to parade around with. There is no word on pricing although we do know that the Motorola Evoke QA4 will be out sometime in Q2 this year, which isn’t too far off, actually.
